I've just bought a new computer and it won't connect to my router through wifi. I have had a laptop in the past that's connected fine. Mine and my partners phone will connect to the router, the PS4 connects fine, it's just this computer. I'm currently using the internet via an Ethernet cable. All other devices and other laptop work fine, but new laptop says "Can't connect." Acer tech support said drivers are up to date and walked me through other troubleshooting. Said to contact Verizon. I can connect through an ethernet cable plugged directly into the router. Ping was successful, but just can't get on via wifi. Help! Connect the router to the modem and power cycle the modem. This should force the modem to accept the router. Clone the computer's MAC address to the router's Internet interface. After searching aorund to see if another telphone pole was down somewhere I could not find anything, on the Verizon website. On my NightHawk Router It says that both the router is on and it has internet connection those lights are on but will not distrubute it, the 2.5GHz and 5GHz lights are not on.
